Engagement Sessions
Opportunity for an Unique Portrait
We see an engagement session as an opportunity to make a picture that really shows who you are. Most people are too busy to schedule a portrait session regularly much less a personalized one-on-one portrait session. Just before your wedding is a great time to create a keepsake that captures this time in your life. Our goal is to create a memento that captures not only how you look but also the feelings you have for each other.
Engagement Session Locations
Your choice of location says a lot about who you are as a couple. Beach engagement sessions are very popular but the possibilities are endless. Consider any locations that are special to you as a couple, perhaps where you proposed or favorite spot to hang out. If you enjoy any activities together, including them in your session will make it unique.
The Tone of your Portraits
You also get to set the tone of your engagement session. You decide whether you pictures will be formal, fun, casual, intimate or steamy. We want our pictures to be candid expressions of you but if you have trouble relaxing in front of the camera we know how to get natural expressions even if the pictures are posed.
Finishing Touches
Sometimes the way a picture is processed can really complete the story. Black and white pictures are timeless and the removal of distracting colors can really cause the focus of the picture to stand out. Sepia toned images give pictures a historical look. We then edit the final pictures to remove distracting objects, whiten teeth, and smooth blemishes so you can have the confidence to display your portrait as large as you like.
The Final Product
For most engagement sessions we finish your portrait in time for your wedding so guests can enjoy it during the reception. We also provide wallet size copies of your portrait for your guests to take home.

Jason & Nikki Engagement
We had a lot of fun with this one. We met Jason and Nikki at Laguna Beach. There is a very scenic natural arch near the water. Unfortunately the tide was a bit too high to shoot inside the arch that evening, so we shot by it.

Nick & Jona Engagement
We had so much fun on this shoot. We visited the beach at Corona Del Mar and shot ‘til the sun set. Nick & Jona had a lot of fun and we got some excellent pictures. We couldn’t have asked for a better day.
