We had the pleasure of photographing Mike and Holly’s wedding at the ultimate small chapel, the Church of Reflections across from Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. The chapel used to be inside the park but was moved to allow for new attractions. Their wedding coordinator went above and beyond the call of duty, rigging a ring bearer’s pillow out of nothing, fixing broken boutonnieres, and pointing out nearby Independence Hall as a great location for pictures. Mike & Holly were blessed with a very dramatic sky that allowed us to get some awesome pictures. The sky, combined with plenty of time, and the great nearby locations allowed us a lot of opportunity. We didn’t realize it at the time but apparently getting married at the chapel gives one the privilege of taking wedding pictures inside Knott’s Berry Farm. We wouldn’t have had time anyway but if we ever find ourselves there again… The reception took place at the Garden Grove community center. The venue had so much ambient light I almost didn’t know what do with it all. After a while I broke out our big portable strobes and made some fancy pictures with kick lights.
