Rigo & Nancy’s Wedding
Rigo & Nancy’s wedding day certainly kept us on our toes. Poor Nancy had a hair appointment at the mall but underestimated that chaos takes place at the mall on black Friday. After that, the entire schedule was thrown away and most of the rest of the day was figured out on the fly. The wedding took place at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Whittier California. Nobody really knew the area so we headed toward Whittier College for the formal pictures. After a bit of wandering around the college provided us with some decent locations. From there we left for the reception at Crystal Marques, also in Whittier. We didn’t notice the public parking lot on the other side of the street and ended up parking quite a ways away. We made quite a sight carrying four camera bags, lightstands, a framed portrait, and the display easel between us. The food was great and the reception went pretty smoothly until we noticed the lack of a cake. The cake never was delivered but fortunately a fake cake was handy and it photographed pretty well. Some friends of the family secured some sort of cake to serve the guests and we proceeded with pictures of them “cutting” the fake cake. It was a fun wedding to photograph but it had also been a long day. Rigo & Nancy kept their sense of humor throughout it all and where a pleasure to work with.
